So he maybe can get an apartment down here. but how does that ...Answer: Alot of apartments do a month-to-month lease, so yes it is possible that you rent for just the summer.
as far as the job thing, these people probably have arrangements worked out with their employer. however, an employer has no obligation to keep an employee once they leave.
